Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager of Clinical Services, the Clinical Pharmacy Specialist reviews drug therapy; formulates recommenda! tions based on current literature and prevailing opinion; participates in the education of physicians, pharmacists,nurses, and allied health professionals; serves as a resource for drug information; pariticpates in drug research trials based on specialty and current relationships with principle investigators; and serves as a liasion between the specialty and department operations. Active participant on the Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
Work experience as a patient care pharmacist involved in patient monitoring and drug therapy review is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Graduate of an ACCP accredited school/college of pharmacy is required.
Eligible or currently licensed in the State of Maine.
Experience in an academic setting as an educator of pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals is required.
Experience in the design, enrollment, monitoring, documentation, and analysis of patients in research drug protocols is preferred.
Excellent presentation skills on topics of clinical relevance.
