This position assumes full ownership for everything related to the Pharmacy Enterprise and maintains an integrated model of high quality medication use and medication use systems via patient care services, education and research. The primary job responsibilities include: Medication Use Management, Quality Outcomes and Performance Improvement, Medication Safety, Regulatory and Accreditation Compliance, Drug Utilization Management, Informatics and Technology, Strategic Planning, Financial Management, Supply Chain Management, Human Resources Management, and Research and Education. Provides leadership and consultation to MaineHealth on pharmacy specific integration initiatives when requested.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Must be a registered Pharmacist, or eligible for licensure in the State of Maine.
An advanced degree ( PharmD, MBA, MHA, MPH, or MS) is required.
Ten years of experience in a large hospital pharmacy with at least 5 years as a Director of Pharmacy in a similar setting.
Completion of an ASHP accredited pharmacy residency, particularly administrative residency, is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other members of the health care team, health system, educational and community leaders.
Evidence of excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
Evidence of leadership in pharmacy practice.
Evidence of expertise and knowledge of pharmacy education and training, as well as research.
Experience leading evidence based decisions about drug use, controlling pharmaceutical expenses while maximizing patient benefit.
