Our results-oriented therapy programs help people improve their level of function and reclaim their role in the community, at home and at work. NERHP is Joint Commission accredited with a Disease Specific Certification in Stroke and Amputee Care and is licensed by the State of Maine.

NERHP provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical rehabilitation to patients with stroke, brain injury, cardiac, pulmonary, spinal cord injury, amputation, and other neuro-muscular impairments. Our primary goal is to provide diagnostic and treatment services to people requiring physical rehabilitation in order to achieve their highest level of independence in the home and the community.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the following critical functions:

  • Assisting in the development, implementation and evaluation of! patient care programs, policies and procedures addressing pat! ient care needs.
  • Promoting an environment and culture that enables NERHP to fulfill its mission by meeting or exceeding its goals, conveying the hospital mission to all staff, holding staff accountable for performance, and motivating staff to improve performance.
  • Supervising and coordinating nursing personnel (50 FTEs) and delivery of nursing care on a 24-hour basis for assigned area.
  • Coordinating administration and clinical activities, both inter and intra-departmentally, so that optimum patient care is provided, staffing is maintained and costs contained.
  • Serving as CNO in his/her absence

License or Certification:
  • Current RN lic! ensure appropriate to state regulations (unrestricted)
  • BLS cer! tification with ACLS certification to be obtained within on year of hire or entry to position
  • CRRN certification to be obtained within a year of meeting the eligibility requirement to sit for the examination
Education, Training and Years of Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred
  • 5 years nursing experience with 2 years recently in an inpatient hospital experience
  • Progressive nursing management experience including 24 hour accountability
  • Served in leadership roles such as charge nurse or supervisor capacity where they had respolnsibility for reporting, issue resolution, setting direction and accountability for results
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to manage multiple competing demands while maintaining a calm professional demeanor.
  • May be required to work weekdays and/or weekends, evenings and or night shifts if needed to meet deadlines.

  • May be required to work on religious and/or legal holidays on scheduled days/shifts.
  • Will be required to work as necessary during disaster situations, i.e., before, during or after a disaster.
