Staff Pharmacist

Location: Bangor, Maine

Description: Comprehensive Pharmacy Services is at present looking to employ Staff Pharmacist right now, this job will be reside in Maine. The staff pharmacist evaluates and interprets orders; compounds; and dispenses medications according to written orders/prescriptions issued by an authorized prescriber. The staff pharmacist will also identify, prevent, assess, and resolve medication-related problems to ensure a safe and optimal patient outcome; and promote, through criteria based protocols, clinically rational drug therapy and sound pharmaceutical care.

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Pharm.D from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
• Current Maine pharmacist license in good standing
• 2+ years of Pharmacist experience in hospital or retail

Facility & Pharmacy: Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) is an accredited 100-bed psychiatric hospital that serves adult inpatients and outpatients with severe mental illness from the northern 2/3 of the state. It is part of a comprehensive mental health system of services, and one of two psychiatric hospitals operated by the Maine State Department of Health and Human Services. The pharmacy uses Pyxis and ePharmPro for remote order entry. Because management of the pharmacy is outsourced to CPS, the Director of Pharmacy and pharmacists are employees of CPS. Pharmacy technicians, on the other hand, are employed by the state.
