Teaching Hospital within close proximity to Boston, Massachusetts is recruiting for a Pharmacy Operations Manager. GENERAL SUMMARY The role of this position is to assist the Director of Pharmacy in the development implementation, management, evaluation, and promotion of pharmaceutical services designed to provide timely, cost-effective, and safe and effective use of medications for patients. The Pharmacy Manager, Central Operations is a member of the Pharmacy leadership team. Plans, organizes, directs and operates the department, Department of Pharmacy goals, policies and practices. Participates in the development and execution of the department strategic and operational plan. Provides leadership and direction for all pharmaceutical care process in the Central Pharmacy, Develops systems of care, solves problems and facilitates processes required to meet customer need and achieve division objectives within budgetary targets. Additional responsibilities include performance management of assigned staff, quality measurement and process improvement, practice standards within area of responsibility and regulatory compliance. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Primary job responsibilities include assisting the Director of Pharmacy in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, procedures, services, and programs related to a safe and cost- effective medication use process.

Manages all clinical pharmacists, supervisors and technicians in the Central Pharmacy Team in provision of pharmaceutical care. Develop and implement division goals and objectives on an annual basis consistent with departmental and organizational strategic and operating plans. Develops systems of care, solves problems and facilitates processes required to meet customer need and achieve division objectives within budgetary targets.

Additional responsibilities include performance management of assigned staff, quality measurement and process improvement, practice standards within area of expertise and regulatory compliance. Assures that standards and qualifications for Pharmacy personnel established by Department of Pharmacy and approved by the Director of Pharmacy, are adhered to. In conjunction with stakeholders and staff and the Director of Pharmacy, develops short and long term goals and objectives for the Department. Develops and maintains an effective system of communications with the stakeholders including other departments - (Nursing Services, Physician’s, and other Allied Health), the Pharmacy staff, members of Pharmacy Management and Director of Pharmacy. Participates in development of departmental capital, operation expense, and revenue budgets. Participates in monitoring budget variances and recommends corrective strategies through active planning processes with the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy management team. Assists the Director of Pharmacy to develops and implement a budget in order to achieve the overall mission of the Department and the strategic and operating goals as defined in the department Annual Implementation Plan. Provides support to the Director of Pharmacy on Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee, and its sub committee’s activities and initiatives.
