Water Polo Coach Recreation | Glenfield Pool and Leisure Centre


Here at Auckland Council Pools and Leisure Centre, our Water Polo Coach plays a key role in making the whole experience of visiting our pools fun, safe and more enjoyable for our customers. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our awesome team!


There are two permanent part-time 6 hours roles, but has the ability to increase.

You must be able to work on Tuesday night as we host our game night weekly on a Tuesday from 4 pm- 7:30 pm.

You may also get extra shifts, these shifts would mainly consist of morning training sessions which run between 6 am - 8 am.

Being able to work on a Sunday morning would also be very beneficial.


This role is very well suited to high school and university students, as all of our training takes place outside of school hours.


Our aim is to get more Aucklanders, more active, more often and right now we’re looking for a Water Polo Coach in Glenfield to help achieve that goal!

He kōrero mōu: About you


You’ll aid the development of individual players and improve overall team performance by applying your extensive knowledge and experience of the sport. You’ll be well informed, trained and up to date on current water polo coaching programmes, ensuring coaching methods are maintained and teaching techniques are appropriate to meet players' needs.


You’ll have at least 2 years of Water Polo experience, ideally having exposure to refereeing and/or coaching.


You’ll be a confident communicator, able to instruct a large number of students and manage group dynamics with ease.

Pay rate: starting Living Wage, likely to increase in late 2023
