- The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and developing the overall operations of the housekeeping department in accordance with national, state, and local standards and guidelines along with assuring the highest degree of quality guest care is maintained at all times.
- Responsible for staffing, scheduling, training and developing housekeeping staff.
Manage the daily activities of the Housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of rooms, gardens, seating areas, washrooms, Banquet halls, and all public spaces.
- Daily supervision of the housekeeping staff.
- Daily supervision of the grounds keeping staff.
- Purchase, re-order and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory.
- Conduct daily inspections of all rooms and public areas.
- Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and conduct.
- Determine and maintain the department work schedule used to notify staff of upcoming events and ensure proper preparation and staffing.
- Ensure the proper maintenance of all equipment; makes arrangements for repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment.
- Work closely with maintenance team to ensure all services, engineering, appliances are in perfect working condition.
- Assigns workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.
- Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.
- Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
- Evaluates records to forecast department personnel requirements.
- Prepares reports concerning room occupancy and expenses
- Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.
