Pharmacy Resident

Location: Portland, Maine

Description: CVS Health is at the momment seeking for Pharmacy Resident right now, this job will be delegated in Maine. More details about this job opportunity please read the description below. The UNE Specialty Pharmacy Resident is a unique role within the CVS Health enterprise that allows recent pharmacy graduates the opportunity to learn and gain work experience within the PBM and specialty pharmacy setting. The resident will rotate through various departments including specialty product development , manufacturer services, specialty guideline management, product safety, case review unit, analytics and consulting services, and clinical account management. Additionally the resident will be based specialty pharmacy verifying orders, answering patient questions and performing drug utilization review. Upon completion of the residency, the resident should have a deeper understanding of how a PBM can cost effectively manage the specialty patient population and the specialty pharmacies role in managing the needs of patients with complex, rare or genetic disorders that require treatment with specialty medications. The resident will be expected to complete the following:

  • CVS Health approved research project on a specialty focused topic
  • Presentation of research project at ApHA?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /

  • Staff based within the specialty pharmacy
  • Completion of all rotation related requirements
  • Active participation in monthly residency forum calls
  • Precept APPE Pharmacy Students
  • Support additional specialty business related needs
Required Qualifications
  • PharmD. from a U.S. accredited
school of pharmacy by the time of start

  • Registered Pharmacist licensure
in the state of ME by October 2017

  • Competency of Microsoft Office
Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Strong critical thinking and
analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and
presentation skills

  • Desire to pursue a specialty or managed
care related career after completion of the residency

Preferred Qualifications
Managed Care and/or Specialty Experience

Education
Pharm.D. candidate from a United States accredited program or PharmD by start date
