Under supervision from the Director Pharmacy Services and/or Staff Pharmacist, the Technician performs billing for pharmaceuticals, receives and stocks departme! nt supplies, prepares medications for prenatal through geriatric in-patients and outpatients. The incumbent must perform all duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position. In addition, the incumbent conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Current certification through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board. Active Maine Licensure through Maine Pharmacy Board as either a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern. Must have good interpersonal skills as the incumbent deals with a variety of people and departments that utilize pharmacy services. Must be able to work with minimal direct supervision and prioritize work to accomplish assigned tasks. Must be accountable for patient care in employ! ing proper aseptic techniques, accuracy of drug selection, dos! age calculations and label preparation. Incumbent has access to confidential patient information.
