Promotes rational drug therapy for MaineGeneral Medical Center patients by coordinating various aspects of pharmaceutical care. Aspects include coordinating drug distribution activities, monitorin! g patients for potential drug related problems, ensuring appropriate drug therapy and serving as a drug information resource for Physicians, Nurses, patients and other health professionals.
Qualifications/Competencies:
Licensed by the Maine Commission of Pharmacy or eligible for same through reciprocation required
Annual re-licensure with proof of 15 continuing education contact hours as required by law .
BLS is preferred within 3 months of hire Bachelor’s degree, B.S. in Pharmacy or Master’s degree, MS, MBA; Pharm D is preferred Up to 1 year, hospital Pharmacy experience in unit-dose and IV Admixtures and drug Therapy monitoring preferred Position requires use of computerized patient registration/medical information system. Must have the ability and aptitude to adapt to using computer keyboards and terminals. Effective interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills necessary. A high level of mental alertness is preferred Proficie! ncy in a suite of Microsoft Office applications
