The certified pharmacy technician will perform any/all tasks associated with the unit dose, intravenous preparation and clerical areas within t! he department of Pharmacy. All activity is under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist and is in accordance with State and Federal standards of practice. The certified pharmacy technician maintains requirements of certification as designated by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
A) Education and Training: High school graduate or equivalent. Excellent math skills essential. Computer skills required.
B) Experience: 2-3 years of hospital pharmacy preferred.
C) Mandatory Training: Maintains Certified Pharmacy Technician status.
D) Licensure, Certification, Registration: CPhT as stated above.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
A) Uniform/dress requirements: No jeans, professional dress, lab coat.
B) Physical demands: lifting and standing for long periods of time--refer to task analysis.
C) Environmental demands: detailed, ! somewhat repetitious work.
