Description: Mercy Hospital - Maine is currently seeking to employ CLINICAL PHARMACIST - PER DIEM right now, this job will be ordered in Maine. Under the general supervision of the Director Pharmacy Services, the Clinical Pharmacist formulates and dispenses all prescribed pharmaceuticals for prenatal through geriatr! ic patients and employees of the hospital.

Additionally, the incumbent provides guidance and work verification to Pharmacy Technicians.

The incumbent performs all duties and tasks in accordance with performance standards established for the job.

The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position.

In addition, the incumbent conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Licensure obtained through a Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy and successful accomplishment of State of Maine Board Examination is required.

Experience of one (1) to two (2) years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience or completion of a hospital residency program is desirable.

Three (3) to five (5) years of professional pharmacist experience in a hospital setting is ! strongly preferred.

Must be highly accountable for te! chnical expertise as performance directly affects patient care.

Must be further accountable for maintaining pharmacy charge structure and generating patient charges.

Incumbent has access to highly confidential patient information.

Must be able to operate independently and autonomously throughout scope of duties with minimal guidance from Director Pharmacy Services.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills as the incumbent deals with physicians, staff and fellow employees on a daily basis.

Incumbent must also deal with outside agencies and vendors.

Must have judgement and initiative to make accurate and timely decisions as to appropriateness of prescriptions and communicate as appropriate, while balancing deadlines and changing workloads.
