Description: MaineGeneral Health is currently seeking to employ Senior Pharmacy Technician right now, this position will be settled in Maine. OPEN TO CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF THE PHARMACY DEPARTMENT ONLY PLEASE Under the supervision of a Pharmacist, performs various technical duties relative to the unit dose drug distribution system. Serves as a support person to the Pharmacist in processing, preparing, and distributing drugs and intravenous (IV) solutions and chemotherapy doses. Under the supervision of the Pharmacy Manager, trains new Technicians, performs advanced purchasing activities, checks medication processing in selected areas, and supports medication use system technology (e.g., Pyxis Medstations, etc.) as assigned.
1 year but less than 3 years, in hospital pharmacy setting. Registered with the State of Maine Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician, Pharmacy Technician Board Certification required, Demonstrated competence in the following areas: Unit dose distribution, Sterile product preparation. Chemotherapy preparation, Medication ordering functions, Pyxis/CIISafe inventory management, system maintenance and troubleshooting.
