A hospital with state-of-the art technology. Comprised of a 58-bed acute care hospital and an extensive network of ancillary services, Goodall Hospital serves 144,000 patients each year under the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval. It recently implemented a Patient Archival Computer System (PACS), electronic medical records, and the Pyxis Electronic Prescription Delivery System. The inpatient pharmacy is open seven days a week from 8am to 6pm. It operates on a cartless model using Meditech Client Server 5.5, Pyxis MedStations, and Pyxis Connect. The Director of Pharmacy is employed by CPS; the three full-time and three per diem pharmacists are employed by the hospital.
Located 35 miles south of Portland, Sanford is an attractive, thriving community of 23,000 that is surrounded by inland lakes and woodlands and offers affordable living near the coast.
Scope of responsibility. As the Director of Pharmacy, you will oversee all pharmacy operations at Goodall Hospital, including planning, organizing, controlling, and supervising activities, according to hospital policies, standards of practice of the profession, and state and federal laws. You will recommend innovations in the practice and function of the pharmacy to hospital administration and carry out mutually agreed upon programs.
Qualifications:
- Pharmacy degree (BS or PharmD)
- Current ME license in good standing
- Previous hospital pharmacy management experience
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns
- Ability to work cooperatively with other members of CPS and hospital and pharmacy staff
